Description
The Mobile Distribution Team distributes supplies to the public during and after an emergency. This resource is useful when survivors cannot access fixed Points of Distribution (POD) or other distribution sites, or when it is more efficient to distribute supplies from a vehicle or other mobile platform.

Overall Function
The Mobile Distribution Team:
1. Loads delivery vehicles and distributes emergency supplies and donated goods to disaster survivors
2. Uses assigned distribution routes and established drop-off locations, such as a high-rise building, residence or parking lot
3. Tracks and records the distribution of emergency supplies and donated goods
4. Coordinates operations with the Distribution of Emergency Supplies (DES) Task Force and the Donations Coordination Task Force
5. Adheres to all safety guidelines specified by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
Composition and Ordering Specifications
1. Discuss logistics for deploying this team, such as working conditions, length of deployment, security, lodging, transportation and meals, prior to deployment
2. The number and type of Mobile Distribution Teams vary based on the event type, size, scale and duration
3. The condition of the transportation infrastructure may obstruct access to impacted areas and may affect resupply operations
4. Requestor orders vehicles based on local conditions
5. All Mobile Distribution Team members have distribution experience or training
6. Requestor orders supplies—such as hand trucks, ropes, tie-down straps, work gloves, drinking water, flashlights, local street maps, global position system (GPS) capability, traffic cones, banner tape, mobile phones and land mobile radios—based on incident needs
7. Requestor determines the amount and type of security
