Description
The Hazard Mitigation Operations Team primarily provides management, technical expertise, and experience to support the goals and objectives of a community’s Hazard Mitigation Planning Team, plan development, and plan implementation. It also supports each local, state, and federal mission area within the affected geographic areas. This team is a group of technical specialists that can be drawn upon as needed to directly or indirectly assist a state, local community, tribal nation or territory

The Hazard Mitigation Operations Team provides comprehensive mitigation technical assistance to local, state, tribal, territorial, and/or federal organizations. Team members are specialists in myriad areas critical to hazard mitigation planning and implementation

1. Discuss logistics for deploying this team, such as working conditions, length of deployment, security, lodging, transportation and meals, prior to deployment
2. Specific individual personnel resources should be ordered as a separate resource
3. The ordering agency is encouraged to establish an operations team with its own personnel that correspond one-to-one with the ordered operations team personnel in order to carry out and carry on the mitigation initiatives
