The Fatality Management (FM) Morgue Forensic Team processes and assists in the identification of human remains in a temporary site during a mass fatality event, under the medico-legal authority of the Medical Examiner or Coroner.

Overall Function
The FM Morgue Forensic Team processes human remains through the following stations staffed by appropriate specialists:
1. Pathologist
a. Autopsy Technician
b. Radiology Technician Specialist
2. Anthropologist
3. Odontologist
a. Morgue Dental Assistant
4. Fingerprint Specialist
5. DNA Collection Specialist
Composition and Ordering Specifications
1. Discuss logistics for deploying this team, such as working conditions, length of deployment, security, lodging, transportation, and meals, prior to deployment
2. Requestor can order additional units based on complexity of the cause of death, the geographic scale and scope, and the number of victims
3. The Disaster Portable Morgue Unit (DPMU) cache is available at the temporary morgue site and is self-sufficient for 72 hours of processing operations
4. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mission-specific and requestor should specify during ordering
5. This team will bring supplies, including biohazard disposal bags and labels, recovery containers, and penlights; requestor should consider whether additional specialized supplies or equipment may be necessary, depending on the needs of the specific operation
6. Requestor can order a Morgue Forensic Team Leader, Forensic Pathologist, Autopsy Technician, and Radiology Specialist with Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) capabilities, if necessary
