Overall Function
The Isolation and Quarantine Team is a technically trained team able to support isolation and quarantine activities:
1. Initiate isolation and quarantine measures once requested by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
2. Manage operations in an isolation and quarantine facility in accordance with established AHJ procedures and systems
3. Provide travel restriction recommendations to the AHJ, as needed
4. Support voluntary and or mandatory isolation and quarantine measures, as requested by the AHJ
Composition and Ordering Specifications
1. This team can be ordered as a single resource or in conjunction with a NIMS typed team, such as an Epidemiological Response Team
2. Discuss logistics for deploying this team, such as working conditions, length of deployment, security, lodging, transportation, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and meals, prior to deployment
3. This team works up to 12 hours per shift, is self-sustainable for 72 hours and is deployable for up to 14 days
4. AHJ will validate team composition and equipment requirements based on the type of incident being supported
