Description
The Logistics Support Team is a group of qualified personnel trained in field or operational logistics, support, resource management, and mutual aid who support a jurisdiction’s Logistics Section. This team supplements the staff of an agency, Emergency Operations Center (EOC), or Multiagency Coordination (MAC) Group based on the support capabilities necessary.

Overall Function
The Logistics Support Team:
1. Helps affected jurisdictions manage their logistics functions and processes, including acquiring and distributing material resources
2. Helps the jurisdiction track and account for resources deployed throughout the operational area
3. Helps the jurisdiction oversee daily inventories, identify resource gaps, and recommend appropriate types and quantities of resources to fill the gaps
4. Supports and coordinates with Points of Distribution (POD), Commodity Planning Units, Logistics Staging Areas (LSA), and Base Camp Teams
5. Collaborates with Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), Planning Section, Operations Section, and other Incident Command System (ICS) entities as necessary

1. Discuss logistics for deploying this team, such as working conditions, length of deployment, security, lodging, transportation, and meals, prior to deployment
2. Discuss the team's point of contact, reporting location, and expected arrival time
3. This team augments an existing capability and does not supplant the jurisdiction’s personnel or authority
4. Requestor orders additional technical specialists as necessary based on incident needs
