| Type 1 | The Traffic Control Specialist: 1. Establishes traffic control objectives and evacuation and re-entry operational goals, under the Evacuation Coordination Team Leader's direction 2. Determines appropriate embarkation zones, as necessary 3. Coordinates with Transportation Specialist, Mass Care Specialist, and information technology specialist to identify optimal routes for evacuation and re-entry operations, considering locations of pick-up points, reception centers, and shelters 4. Identifies specific traffic control points for evacuation and re-entry operations 5. Develops plan to staff, stage, deploy, and monitor progress of traffic control points for evacuation and re-entry operations 6. Works with key local, regional, state, and Federal partners to establish and implement cohesive traffic control strategies for evacuation and re-entry 7. Coordinates with Public Information Officer to establish talking points and other communication methods, such as signage, related to evacuation routes and zones 8. Provides ongoing situational awareness updates on protective action progress, barriers, and evolving needs 9. Directs closure of evacuation corridors as hazards arise 10. Identifies and implements refuge of last resort, as necessary |
