Type Description
Type 1Same as Type 2, PLUS: During disaster recovery, collaborates with officials and stakeholders, including public and private partners and the public, to develop mitigation messages consistent with the HM Plan and the community’s objectives for resilient recovery. Develops and implements a post-disaster strategy for effective advancement of resiliency and mitigation throughout all demographics of the local population.
Type 2The HM Outreach Specialist provides technical assistance to advance mitigation activities by identifying need, opportunity, and resources available for engaging the public and other stakeholders. This position develops Community Education and Outreach (CEO) products and activities that support the adoption and implementation of the relevant HM Plans that are consistent with the associated HM strategy and any mitigation strategies developed for post-disaster recovery. The HM Outreach Specialist also provides advice and assistance on HM program concepts, rules, and processes in a variety of venues.
