| Type | Description |
| Type 1 | The FM Forensic Anthropologist: 1. Oversees the Anthropology function at the temporary morgue and may serve as lead for the Anthropology station 2. Coordinates with the Morgue Forensic Team Leader to determine anthropological requirements and the appropriate methods for examining and documenting findings 3. Determines whether remains are human 4. Provides a biological profile for human remains, including age-at-death, sex determination, estimated living stature, ancestry, unique features, pathologic conditions, bone trauma, medical interventions, or other conditions 5. Assists in the victim identification process through examination of human remains in a variety of conditions 6. Assists in the triage process with the initial documentation and sorting of fragmented or charred human remains located at the temporary morgue site 7. Conducts radiographic comparisons for the positive identification process or turns over information to forensic radiologists 8. Depending on assignment, reports directly to the Morgue Processing Unit Leader (morgue) or the FM Human Remains Recovery Team Leader (field) |
