Type 1The DAC: 1. Serves as the principal representative overseeing damage assessment, verification, and validation activities in coordination with the Federal counterpart 2. Verifies assessments are consistent with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)-defined criteria 3. Ensures appropriate organization, scheduling, staffing, and logistics support for assessments 4. Ensures personnel provide appropriate technical assistance to support damage assessments 5. Coordinates with other damage assessment personnel and emergency managers to evaluate the need for local, state, tribal, or territorial preliminary damage assessments 6. Ensures that personnel provide appropriate support for drafting Federal assistance requests
